abstract={Dynamic Software Product Lines (DSPL) focuses on product lines where the resolution of variants happens at a later point in time, ideally at runtime. While runtime reconfiguration is still rather innovative, preconfiguration of software systems is well established and to some degree even standardized. Thus, we study such preconfiguration approaches to better understand how their capabilities relate to classical product line engineering on one hand and to dynamic software product lines on the other.}
